The scouts of Troop 607 hiked to the Agua Fria National Monument on Saturday, December 9, 2017. The troop first drove to Bloody Basin Road, about an hour north of Phoenix. The hike in to the campsite was relatively short, only about 1.5 miles. After making our way to camp, the scouts set up camp in the view of a petroglyph.
After camp was setup, we embarked on a side hike to the Agua Fria National Monument. The Indian Ruins were in excellent condition, and were covered with many pottery shards laying around. Saturday night we held our campfire ceremony, where after many jokes were shared, Mr. Pela shared a story. All scouts present were given a bead to commemorate the outing.
Sunday morning we broke down camp and made our way back to the vehicles, for an uneventful drive back to Phoenix.
